This designation is offered by the Institute of Certified Bankers. A candidate must fulfill work and education requirements in one of the following two ways:
- have at least three years ERISA and IRS Code/Regulations experience and have completed an ICB approved training program, or
- have five years experience in ERISA and IRS Code/Regulations.
The candidate must also provide a letter of recommendation and sign a code of ethics. Finally, the candidate must pass a written examination.
